Jon S. Jackson, 76, of Moline, passed away Thursday May 7, 2020 at Centennial Rehab and Healthcare, Moline. Inurnment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery at a future date. Jon was born May 30, 1943, and grew up in Macomb, Illinois, where he later attended Western Illinois University. He earned a Master's degree in Parks and Recreation from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and was the founding director of the Highland Park Youth Committee. Mr. Jackson also served as a grant writer at Carl Sandburg College, Galesburg. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the Army. His enjoyments included spending time with his children, spoiling his grandchildren, and talking with friends at Morning Star Senior Residences. Survivors include his children, Keli (Scott) Jackson Mueller, Webster Groves, Missouri, Cory Jackson, Moline, Lindsey (Jason) Carlson, Moline; grandchildren, Annabelle, Paige, and Mason; mother, Charlene Jackson; and siblings, Sue Hensley, Cathy Jackson, Jan Qualls, Mark Jackson, and Kimberly Berg. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Jackson.
