Jorene K. McDonald, 84, of Milan, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at St Anthony's Continuing Care.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM Thursday December 12, 2024 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made in Jorene's name to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.

Jorene was born on May 21, 1940, in Rock Island, the daughter of Albert and Mildred (Felske) McDonald. She worked for Rock Island County Animal Control for 13 years. Previously she had been employed with Servus Rubber, Bendix, the United States Postal Service and IH Case.

Jorene enjoyed being outside working on her yard and bowling. She was a advocate for animal well being, loving animals, big and small. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Milan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Marilyn Pruett and Jan (Zoe) McDonald; her friend, Deb Bloom; and many cherished nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Gene Gross, Glenn Gross and Donna Jo Gross; special friend, Geraldine "Jerri" Fenton.
