Joseph "Joe" A. Mayfield, 61, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025, at St Anthony's Continuing Care, Rock Island.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Greater Antioch Baptist Church, 929 14th St, Rock Island, IL 61201. Visitation will be held an hour prior at the church. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Joe was born on April 15, 1963, the son of John and Deloris (McBride) Mayfield. He co-owned and operated a car detailer shop, Brother's One Stop Shop, with his brother Jasper. He married Kimberly Lewis. Joe loved working on cars, especially Cadillacs. He also had a motorcycle that he loved to ride. He always made time for his family and loved being around his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Deloris Mayfield; children, Starkisha Young, Joseph Lewis, Jo-Swa (Larica) Lewis, Jo-Sheika (Anthony) Williams, Jo-Quanda Lewis, and Armon (DeAnna) Sims; 22 grandchildren; siblings, Jasper (Regina) Mayfield, Dorothy (Josh) Kulp, Shalonda (Levert) Foster, Tonya Clarke; special friend, Lakia Hendersen; and best friends, Rodney Speights and Irwin King.

He was preceded in death by his father, John; grandparents, Betsy and Hollis McBride; aunts and uncles, Gladys and Percy Atwater, Hollis McBride Jr., Preston McBride, and Marlyn Mallet; nephew, Timon Mayfield; and cousins, Justin McBride, Aretha Atwater, Darlene McBride.
