Obituary

Joseph DeSchepper III, 59, of Aledo, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at Genesis Medical Center West, Davenport.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Heritage Church, 4801 44th St., Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials may be left to the RD Fund-supporting children with serious illnesses or Samaritan Purse.

Joseph was born on Dec. 22, 1957, in Moline, the son of Joseph V. DeSchepper Jr. and Joan Douglas. He married Donna Marr-Foster in 2010.

Joe was head of fleet maintenance at Adrian Carriers for 23 years. The last six years he was a correctional officer for Mercer County Sheriff's Department. He proudly served this position for the safety of his coworkers and was able to minister to anyone who needed a listening ear.

He loved gardening, canning, hunting, fishing and most recently succeeding at his life's dream of being in the country and raising some animals and crops. Then sitting back on the porch to enjoy it all with his wife, family and friends. Mr. Deschepper was a member of Heritage Church, Rock Island.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Joseph and Deven DeSchepper, Daniel "Sarah" Foster; grandchildren, Emmalyn, Bryson, Joslyn Foster; mother, Joan; siblings, Mark "Audrey" DeSchepper, Bob "Jody" DeSchepper, Chuck "Karen" DeSchepper, Beth "Matt" Marti; father-in-law, Melvin Marr; sisters-in-law, Cindy "Bill" Minard, Susan Marr; brother-in-law, Gerry Marr; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend, Brian Evins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, Joseph; sister, Kathy; daughter, Carrie Ann; grandson, Rylan Foster; and mother-in-law, Lynette Marr.
