Joseph M. Miller, 77, of Rock Island, died Saturday, January 2, 2020 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island.  Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded and there will be no services.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Joseph was born in Rock Island, Illinois on July 13, 1943, a son of William Ivan and Margaret Elizabeth Wise Miller.  He married Linda Ryan on October 3, 1966 in Port Byron, Illinois.  She preceded him in death in 2010.

Joseph retired from Case IH after 30 plus years of employment.

He loved fishing, boating, sports, walking, gardening and cooking for his grandson.  He enjoyed driving which led to many road trips.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Thomas Miller, Davenport; grandson, Gavin Miller; siblings, Joyce Hanna, Rock Island, Phyllis Witherspoon, Rock Island, Larry Miller, San Jacinto, Calif. and Thomas Miller, Milan; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Renee Miller, grandson, Chaz Miller, brother, Bill Miller and sister, Barbara Sharp.
