Joseph A. Willett, 58, of Rock Island, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Face masks and social distancing are required. Memorials may be made to the family.

Joseph was born on August 24, 1962 in Rock Island, a son of James and Bonnie (Johnson) Willett. He primarily worked as a machinist at Cobham before retiring. Joseph was an avid chess player and coach. He also enjoyed fishing, target shooting, and reading.

Those left to cherish Joseph's memory include his mother, Bonnie; sister, Jodie Willett; brother, Terry Willett; and a host of chess family and friends.

Joseph was preceded in death by his father.
