Josephine A. Parker, 105, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Manor Care, Davenport. Services for Josephine will be 11 am, Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Josephine was born on January 13, 1910 in Loraine, Illinois, the daughter of William and Cora Goodnow Matticks. Josephine married Charles Blythe on July 14, 1925 in Muscatine. He preceded her in death in 1929. Later she married Paul Parker on July 23, 1943 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2002. Josephine was a homemaker. She had previously worked as a map maker for the U.S. Army, and had been a beauty school instructor. She was an active member of the former Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Schneider Willhite, of Davenport, formerly of Rock Island; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren.
