Joyce E. Chard, 79, of Sherrard, Ill., passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, Ill. Burial will be at Sherrard Cemetery, Sherrard, Ill.. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Sherrard Fire Dept. or Sherrard Library.

Joyce was born October 21, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa, a daughter of George and Loretta O'Neil Jones. She graduated from Alleman High School, Rock Island, Ill. Joyce and Daryl G. Chard were united in marriage on June 19, 1965 in Rock Island, Ill.

Joyce worked at Royal Neighbors of America, later for Shepard Lumber Co., and lastly for Norcross.

She was a member of New Windsor Presbyterian Church, New Windsor, IL, and volunteered in the Food Pantry of the church. She also was a member of the Sherrard Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading and was an avid racing fan.

Surviving are her husband, Daryl, of Sherrard; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Dennis Bond, Viola, Ill.,; son, Darren Chard, Sherrard; grandchildren, Drake (Morgan) Bond, Donovan Bond, Destiny Chard and McKensie Chard; great-grandchildren, Fallon and Addelyn Bond; brothers, Joseph (Randa) Jones, Taylor Ridge, Ill. and Donald (Paula) Jones, Davenport, Iowa; sister, Patricia DeVaney, Milan, Ill.; sister-in-law, Nancy Jones, Ft. Worth, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and additional family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wayne and Larry Jones.
