Joyce C. Dawson, 90, of Silvis, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Genesis – Illini Campus, Silvis.  A Memorial Visitation for Joyce will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 4 ^th Ave. E., Milan.  A Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 6 p.m.  Inurnment will be at a later date in Sherrard Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to OSF Children's Hospital, Peoria.

Joyce was born December 8, 1928 in Milan, a daughter of Elmer and Ruth (Campbell) Kimbell.  She married James Dawson on September 16, 1950 in Milan.  Jim passed away on June 2, 1997.  Joyce was a homemaker for her husband and two sons.  In earlier years, she worked for Prudential Insurance Co.  She loved spending time with her family, flea markets, antiquing and playing euchre.

Those left to cherish Joyce's memory are her sons,  Jeff (Cindy) Dawson, Aledo and Jay (Barb Prendergast) Dawson, Alpha; grandchildren, Jacob (Elizabeth) Dawson, Davenport; Matt (fiancée, Allison Campbell) Dawson, Davenport; Alex (Cameron) Fleming, Bettendorf and Beth (fiancé, Ryan Brandner) McKinley, Rock Island; great grandchildren, Tysen and Tate McKinley; Valentina and Jake Dawson; Jayde DePorter and Natalia Fleming; sisters, Shirley Johnston and Gail DeSmet; and a brother Glen Kimbell

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; parents; a sister, Lorraine Tieman and a brother, Don Kimbell
