Juanita W. Harris, 83, of Rock Island, peacefully answered the Master's call on Friday December 12, 2014 at St. Anthony's Nursing, Rock Island.
Services will be 12:00pm Thursday at Olivet Baptist Church, 1115-21st Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10:00am to service time at the church. Burial will follow in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be left to Olivet Baptist Church or the family.
Juanita was born on June 14, 1931 in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Sam Scott and Willie Tucker. She married James Harris in Arkansas. He preceded her in death in April of 1971.
Mrs. Harris had been employed at the State of Illinois Mental Health for over 20 years.
Juanita loved the company of her family and friends. She enjoyed fishing, knitting and crocheting. Juanita was a member of Olivet Baptist Church, Rock Island, where she served on the Mothers Board and the Women of the Elks, East Moline.
Survivors include her children, Ann Bragg, Rock Island, Rosalyn Moore, Davenport, Freddie Williams, Rock Island, Darrell Harris, Rock Island, Ethel Mosley, Galesburg; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandsons and several extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her twin sister, Garnita Bowen.
