Juanita Spann, 73, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Rush Specialty Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Services will be conducted on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Wheelan-Pressley Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will commence at 10 a.m., followed by funeral services from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be conducted at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Born on August 27, 1952, in Louisville, Mississippi, the daughter of Watson Ivy and Virgie Mae (Seward) Ivy. She was a proud graduate of Camille High School, and she remained deeply connected to her Mississippi roots and the values of faith and family that she upheld throughout her life. She was married in her hometown on July 4, 1971, to Archie L. Spann, Jr., and they had four children. Over the years, Juanita was renowned for her innovative ideas in room remodeling, bargain shopping, and her proficiency in sale negotiating. In her later years, she enjoyed playing bingo, engaging in card games, and watching Little House on the Prairie or Western television shows. She enjoyed listening to gospel, country, and soul music. She faced numerous health challenges, triumphed over them, and served as an inspiration to others. Juanita is survived by her sons, Keith D. Spann, Archie B. Spann, Kevin G. Spann (wife Lisetta Coleman-Spann), and her daughter Chasidy R. Spann; her grandchildren, Armando, Relmillio, Asya, Reuben, Odessa, Jahleel, Davoria, Damari, and Da'Montrez; numerous great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lubertha (Johnnie) Clemmons, James Ivy, Jean Triplet, and Jerry Jernigan.
