IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Juanita Marie
Summers Hall
September 9, 1958 – April 27, 2025
In the quiet town of Rock Island, where the Mississippi flows, Juanita Marie Summers story gently unfolds. Born in the fall on September 9, 1958 with autumn's golden light to Rex and Audrey Summers, she lived a life full of love, selflessness and grace until she passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, surrounded by her adoring family in East Moline, Illinois.
Juanita, a beacon of warmth and creativity, dedicated her life to shaping young minds as a beloved Head Start teacher for the RI/Milan School District 41. For 37 years, she dedicated herself to the growth and well-being of her students, influencing countless young lives with her gentle guidance and unwavering support. Her colleagues and the families she worked with will remember her as a pillar of the educational community, someone who gave her all to ensure the best start in life for the children she taught.
She also worked along her husband as caretakers of the Rock Island Hebrew Cemetery and part-time at The Tri-City Jewish Center.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Juanita found peace and pleasure in the simple things. She was an avid gardener, taking pride in her vibrant flowers and plants and the sanctuary she created.
Juanita also enjoyed tuning into Dwyer & Michaels' Morning Show, starting her days with laughter and light-heartedness that she carried with her. She also enjoyed watching soap-operas and "resting her eyes" for an afternoon nap.
Juanita's legacy is one of boundless love and kindness. She approached life with a selfless heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. Her warm presence and caring spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A devoted wife to Timothy Hall, Juanita's partnership with him was an example of steadfast love and support. Together, they navigated life's ups and downs with grace and humor.
Her Daughter and Son-in-Law, Nicole & Damien Brand of Colona, Illinois and Daughter Jessica Fullington of Milan, Illinois, were the stars in her night, guiding them, sharing wisdom, always there with open arms and an open heart.
If you ever wanted to see Juanita's eyes sparkle brighter than the stars, all you had to do was mention her grandchildren, Aubrey Kline in Heaven, Rachel Fuller of Andalusia, Illinois, Natalee Fuller of Aledo, Illinois and Liam Brand of Colona, Illinois. She was the kind of grandma who could turn a simple hug into a lifelong memory. Juanita's role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys; she adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.
Her siblings, Jim Summers and his wife Marie of Rockford, Illinois, Brenda Hagg of Wheatland, Iowa, David Lee Summers and his wife Mary of Lowden, Iowa, and Karen Akers-Fisher and her husband Randy of Davenport, Iowa will remember Juanita for her loving nature and the special bond they shared. Juanita's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured each relationship with care, attention, and an open heart.
Juanita will also be deeply missed by her Sister-in-Laws: Christine Hansen and her husband Dave of Rock Island, Illinois, Michelle Scheckel and her husband Darwin of Silvis, Illinois, Pamela Puig and her husband Moses of East Moline, Illinois, Patty VanAuken of Milan, Illinois, Lana Fitzpatrick of Orion, Illinois and Brother-in-Law Jon Moss of Moline, Illinois and Richard Christoff of Streator, Illinois.
Along with many Nieces and Nephews and Life-Long Friends.
Juanita's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Chitneni and Staff with the University of Iowa Cancer Center in Bettendorf, Iowa as well as Heartland Hospice Care: Caregivers, Santana and Katrina and her Family Friend Janet Lannoo, who provided comfort and care during her courageous battle. Their dedication and compassion made a profound difference in her final days
