Judith "Judy" Dunnett, of Andalusia, 86, passed away October 19, 2025, at Mercer Manor, Aledo. Born on March 29, 1939, in Corydon, Iowa, to Kenneth and Jeanetta (Mead) Brown, Judy was cherished as a loving presence in the lives of her family and friends. She married Clarence E. DePooter in 1957. He passed away on April 21, 1980. She later married Ronald "Ron" Dunnett on May 28, 1999.
Judy's creative spirit shone through her passions for sewing, baking, and cooking. Her love for her family was particularly evident in the countless hours she spent supporting her grandchildren, never missing a grandparent meal at their schools and always trying to attend their events. Her joy was also found in the simple pleasures of puzzles, crosswords, and reading.
Those left to cherish Judy's memory are her husband, Ron; children, Teresa (Michael) Bratton, Janice Mosher, Denise (Jeffrey) Parchert, and Diana (Johnny) Mier; step-children, Nyci (Todd) Harbison, and Seth (Katie) Dunnett; grandchildren, Amber (Jeremy) Ratajcyk, Michael Parchert, Matthew (Tamala) Parchert, Marc Parchert, Megan (Dakota) DeKeyrel, Jacob Mier, Joshua (Victoria) DePooter, Lorna Mosher and Ryan Mosher; and many more loving family members. Her legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Judy's warmth and generosity touched many lives, and she will be sorely missed.Judy was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Clarence E. DePooter; son, Kenneth DePooter; granddaughter, Erin Mier; and siblings, Connie, Linda, Bud and Larry.
In honor of Judy's life, a memorial service will be held on October 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Illinois City United Methodist Church, 12507 238th St W, Illinois City, IL 61259. Family and friends are invited to join in fellowship after the service for the luncheon at the church. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
