Judith A. Eckermann, 82, of Rock Island, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Aspen Care Center, Silvis.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be 5 pm, Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Kiwanis Pavilion at Sunset Marina, Rock Island. Private inurnment will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Judith A. Ransom was born on January 14, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a daughter of Harry and Juanita Thoma Ransom. She married Carl "Butch" Eckermann on February 24, 1955 in Kahoka, Missouri. Judy owned and operated Just Judy's Hair Solon for over 20 years. She enjoyed running, bowling, golfing, boating, card club and racquetball.

Survivors include her husband, Carl; children, Terri (Ken) Reamy, East Moline, Mike (Lynda) Eckermann, Rock Island, Kim Lindsey, Tampa, Florida, Barb Griese, Rock Island and Cindy Eckermann, Rock Island; 10 grandchildren; Twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Janice (Rene) Segura, Moline, Diane Layne, Manassas, Virginia and Kitty (Bill) Christman, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
