Judith H. Williamson, 90, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Friendship Manor.  She was born on November 19, 1932 in Aledo, the daughter of H.B. and Vera (Smith) Hawks.

Judy grew up in Coyne Center, south of Milan, IL and graduated from Sherrard High School.  She was employed as a secretary to Miss Hazard at Frances Willard Primary School, Rock Island for five years.  She received her B.A. from Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, IA and earned her M.A. from American University, Washington D.C.

Together with her husband, The Rev. A.J. Williamson, she served as a missionary sponsored by the United Methodist Church for 35 years.  She served in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and China.

Jack and Judy had two children, Marie (Rich) Prewett and Wesley (Cindy) Williamson.

Judy is survived by her two children and their spouses; six grandchildren; one great grandson; sister, Joy Bleuer; and one sister-in-law, Betty Edmondson.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Williamson; parents; sisters, Jean Harper and Doris Johansen; brothers-in-law, John Harper, Wesley Johansen and John Bleuer; her husband's brothers, Thomas and Jerry; and his sisters, Beatrice, Mary, and Margaret.

At Judy's request there will be no services held.  Her ashes will be interred at Mars Hill Methodist Church, Neshoba County, Mississippi at a later date.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family with arrangements.
