Judy McKinley passed away September 18, 2026 at Celebrate Senior Living Moline Illinois. There will be a visitation from 4-6:00 PM on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan. The family will have a memorial service for her at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Preemption United Methodist Church. Private inurnment at Reynolds Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Catfish Jazz Society Scholarship fund, or to the church.
Judy was born April 20, 1934 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Earl and Nettie (Dellitt) Pettit and was raised in Reynolds, IL. She married Edward McKinley in 1950, they were later divorced. She retired after 25 years of service from Miller Container Corporation. After retirement, she spent three months of the year in Mesa, AZ so she could see her beloved Cubs spring training.
Judy was a member of Preemption United Methodist Church and visited shut-ins with communion. She was Vice President of both the Coyne Center School Club and the Fire Auxiliary. She bowled in several leagues and was a charter member of the Catfish Jazz Society, a member of the Rock Island Historical Society, and the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Society. She traveled to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Most of all she enjoyed making memories with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, James E. (Evetta) McKinley, Omaha, NE; Patrick L. (Mary) McKinley, Crowne Point, IN; daughters, Sandra Isom, Silvis; Laura (Terry) Hozak, Matherville; and daughter-in-law, Sharon McKinley, Garner, NC; grandchildren, Scott, Michael, Grant and Adam McKinley; Matthew Hozak; James and Tony Isom; Melissa McKinley; and DeEmma Fitzgerald; 20 great grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joseph E. and grandson, J. Leonard.
She was a wonderful mother who leaves us with so many beautiful memories.
