Judith Mae Pappas, 92, of Milan, IL fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at MercyOne Genesis Hospital in Silvis, IL after living for several years at Celebrate of Moline.

Judy was born on February 10, 1933, the middle child of Laura Mae (Van Dolah) and Arnold Rennison Sr. of Illinois City, IL. She graduated from Coal Valley High School in 1950.

Judy loved horses and was an avid equestrian. In her younger years, she was a show jumper where she met her future husband, John N. Pappas, and they were united in marriage on May 13, 1961 in Moline, IL. The couple made their home on a farm in Milan where they raised four children. Judy was an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church where she was involved in the choir and the Philoptochos Society.

On Thursday, December 11, there will be a visitation from 5-8:00 PM with a Trisagion (Prayer) Service at 6:00 PM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 12 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Rock Island. Burial at Rock Island National Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the church. Memorials may be made to St. George Church, 2930 31st Ave Rock Island 61201.

Judy is survived by children Arnold Pappas, Nicholas (Linda) Pappas, Rev. Peter J. (Helen) Pappas; her sister, Ruth Gass; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1996; brother, Arnold "Sonny" Rennison Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dawayne Jacobs; daughter-in-law, Liz Pappas; and grandson, John Blake Jr.
