Julie Marie Harkert, 66, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday December 11, 2025 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.

Friends are welcome to greet the family on Monday December 22, 2025 from 3:00 to 4:00pm at the Rock Island Moose Lodge. A service celebrating her life will follow from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

Julie was born on September 28, 1959 in Rock Island, the daughter of Victor Henry and Diane Marie (Roycraft) Ebert. She married Walter L. Harkert III on September 29, 1990 at the Rock Island Moose Lodge.

Julie had been employed at Harrington Signal as a machine operator until her retirement.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother, loved traveling and was a member of the Rock Island Moose for 39 years.

Survivors include her husband, Wally Harkert III; children, Erica Karraker (Brandon), Amber Castillo (Raymond), Kimberly Devore (Tori), Heather Crowder; grandchildren, Kaleb, Kristyn, Akylah, Ambrayah, Raighella, Shawn, Makennah and Kylee; great grandchildren, Michael, Saint and Navayah; sisters, Gale Becker and Peggy Lang (Jim); several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother in law, John Becker; and father and mother in law, Walter and Patricia Harkert Jr.
