June M. Ringer, 75, of Milan, passed away Friday January 29, 2016 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island.
Services will be 10:30 am Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated later.
June was born January 1, 1941 in Rock Island, IL, a daughter of Richard and Lucille Biebinger Proksch. She married James A. "Jim" Ringer on October 11, 1958 in Milan.
June was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother. In earlier years, she and Jim owned and operated "The Snack Bar" in Milan. She later worked at Town & Country Restaurant, Rock Island, for many years.
June enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, visiting the boat, crafting and quilting. She and Jim also traveled throughout most of the states. Her favorite thing to do was being a "great-grandma".
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, James, Sr. , of Milan; son and daughter-in-law, James and Elizabeth Ringer, Jr., Rock Island; daughter, Christol Vance, Milan; granddaughter, Tiffone Johnson, Milan; great-granddaughter, Selyne; step grandchildren, Buddy Burleson and Nicki McClain, both of Missouri; step great-grandchildren, Aaron, Katelyn and Hanna; sisters, Jean Bruce, Moline, Janice Wittig, Texas, and Jane (Jerry) Johnson, Moline; brother, Tom (Bonnie) Proksch; and numerous nieces, nephews, additional family and friends.
June was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jack and Joe Proksch; and sisters, Judy Bruffett, Jeri Goossens, Joy Anderson and Sally Rogers.
