Kaete S. Strosche, 90, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at the Amber Ridge Memory Care Unit, Moline. Services for Kaete will be 11:30 am, Monday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island.

Kaete was born on April 5, 1924 in Holtland, Germany, a daughter of Friedrich Epkes and Frieda Mueller Epkes. She married Franz Strosche on January 4, 1947 in Holtland, Germany. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2008. Kaete came to the United States from Germany in 1951. Mrs. Strosche worked as cook at the former Holiday Inn in Moline. She had also worked at the Scamper Inn, Milan before her retirement. Kaete was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island and the Rock Island Fitness Center. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and gardening.

Survivors include her children, Franz Strosche ( Susie Mc Crary) New Braunfels, Texas, Jo Anne Bream, Coralville, Iowa, Walter (Rita) Strosche, Milan, Karl (Kathi) Strosche, Coyne Center and Sylvia Strosche, Coal Valley; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Frieda (Cornelius) Ackermann, Leer, Germany, Johanne (Ludwig) Blank, Leer, Germany, Hermann (Gerda) Epkes, Germany; and a sister in law, Bernice Strosche, Milan.
