Karen S. Brockert, 74, of Illinois City passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Genesis Senior Living Center, Aledo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 801 W. Edgington St., Reynolds. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Illinois City Cemetery. Memorials may be made in care of the family.
Karen Sue Tyler was born on September 19, 1941 in Muscatine, Iowa, a daughter of Ivan L. and Colleen Moses Tyler. She married James R. Brockert on September 19, 1986. Karen was an office manager at several Muscatine area businesses, she retired from CR Landscaping in 2002. Karen loved all animals, especially horses, and loved life on the farm. She had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and all of her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Eric (Sara) Creamer of Muscatine, Denise (Marvin) Monk, Illinois City and Scott (Tera) Brockert of New Boston and grandchildren, Emma Karen Creamer, Johnny Erickson, Tanner Brockert, and Erica Brockert
