Karen K. (Munch) Lehan, 81, of Sherrard, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Saturday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be Friday from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm. Burial will be in the Coal Valley Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Karen was born on September 27, 1940 in Moline, a daughter of Carl and Ruth (Caffery) Munch. She married Thomas Lehan on August 6, 1960 in Rock Island. Mrs. Lehan co-owned and operated Quad City Industrial Lighting Supply with her husband, Tom. Previously she was a secretary at Moline Iron and J.I. Case, Rock Island, and for Senator Morris E. Muhleman and attorney Bob Winter. She was elected Kiwanis Queen in 1958.
Karen was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She and her husband enjoyed traveling the country in their R.V., once traveling coast to coast over 6,500 miles. She loved spending time with her family, especially at the home of her daughter. Karen enjoyed playing cards with her card club for over 50 years, decorating her home and collecting antiques.
Survivors include her husband, Tom; daughter, Mary "Beth" Lehan, Sherrard; grandchildren, Erika (Steven) Bradarich, Allison (Michael) Ervanian, Hannah (Casey) Payne; great grandchildren, Peyton, Noah, Sophia, Benjamin, Sydney, Isaiah and Elijah; siblings, Michael (Joy) Munch, Oak Run and Diane Hennessey, Sherrard; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, "Tootsie".
Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
