Karen Ruth Bailey Frees, 75, of Rock Island, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at UnityPoint Health - Methodist Hospital, Peoria.  Cremation rites were accorded.  Services will be private.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.  Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Karen was born in Boone, Iowa on July 8, 1941, a daughter of Ralph and Ruth Nutt Shepard.  She worked at Illinois Oil, Rock Island, for 28 years.

Karen loved her family and dog, "Sammie."  Her kids and grandkids meant the world to her.  Her door was always open to everyone.  Her and her home were the heart of the family.

She is survived by her children, Tony (Mike) Troll, Scott Bailey, Krista (Mike) Timm, Tracey Bailey, Craig Bailey and Cory (Krisa) Bailey; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Harold Shepard, Joyce Fisher, Linda Schulte and Connie Wiker.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Mike Bailey.
