Karol Kay Green, 73, of Rock Island, died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehab, Rock Island.  Cremation rites were accorded.  There will be no services.  Memorials may be made in care of the Quad City Animal Welfare Center or to the family.

Karol was born in Moline on November 23, 1942, a daughter Evar Wallace and Mary KatherineParrish Swanson.  She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1960 and married her high school sweet heart, Johnnie Richard Green on September 26, 1962.  He preceded her in death on January 19, 2010.

Karol attended the Moline Academy of Beauty and worked for a short time at Younkers Beauty Salon, Rock Island, before becoming a stay at home mother.

Karol was a member of Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island.  She  enjoyed her Saturday luncheons with her gal pals, baking, spending time with her family and working in the yard.  She loved her cats and was a big time Elvis Presley fan.  In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing tennis.

Survivors include her daughters, Laurie Figley, Rock Island and Ellyn (David) Hill, New Berlin, Wisc.; granddaughter, Tiffany (Matthew) Galvin, Rock Island; great-grandson, Benjamin Johnnie Galvin; and sister, Dona Lee Blum, Richton Park, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
