Katherine D. Williams, 87, of Moline, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.  Funeral services for Katherine will be 11:00 Thursday at Second Baptist Church, Rock Island.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at church.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Katherine was born on March 28, 1930 in Austin, Texas, a daughter of Lushin Moore, Sr. and Katherine D. Moore.  She married Hardman D. Williams on August 6, 1966 in Chicago.  He preceded her in death on September 23, 2012.  Katherine worked as a recruiter for the Peace Corps for over 20 years.  She was a dedicated member of Second Baptist Church, Rock Island.  She loved collecting Capodimonte porcelain, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter in law, Linda Moore; grandchildren, Denise Moore, Jeffrey Moore and Michael McGee; 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Lucille Vaughn, Mary Louise Moore (Lemuel) Carroll, Erma Jean (George) Morrow and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Walter Lee Moore and Lushin Moore, Jr., and a son, Dennis C. Moore.
