Katheryn A Cox, 85, of New Port Richey, formerly of Milan, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2016 in Florida.

A celebration of life is to take place on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan.  A memorial mass will be held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 3, with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Dubuque, Iowa.

Katheryn was born on May 9, 1931 in Downey, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late, Neeley and Irene Morrison.

Katheryn worked for the Illinois Casualty Company for 26 years until retiring in 1994. She relocated to Florida in 2001. Katheryn was a lifetime member of the American Legion and VFW, and a member of the Eagles Club.  She also volunteered at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital.

Katheryn will be remembered as a very energetic and outgoing person who was a rock of support for her whole family. She was always strong and never gave up fighting until the day she passed.

Katheryn was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, William T. Cox. She is survived by her loving son, Bill (Kathy) Cox; daughter, Lori (John) Bailey; grandchildren, Jessica (Eric), Nicole (Chris), and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Michael, Emilee, Christine, and Isabella.
