Kathleen A. "Kay" McCoy, 86, of Rock Island, formerly of Bettendorf, passed away Thursday March 27, 2014 at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan, where visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Park Board Youth Baseball Program.

Kathleen was born April 15, 1927 in Rock Island, a daughter of Edward and Catherine (Moran) Cooke. She married Kenneth R. McCoy on May 15, 1982 in Bettendorf. Kay worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for 30 years.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Kay loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and shopping. She was an avid Bettendorf and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Kay and Ken enjoyed going to the "Bowl" games and traveling.

Surviors include her children (and spouses), Nancy (James) Brown, Milan; Katherine (Pat) Burke, West Plains, MO, Kerry (Rhonda) McCoy, Minot, ND, and Lynda (Michael) Eckermann, Rock Island; daughter-in-law, Nancy McCoy, Plymouth, MN; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and her niece, Constance Knight, Oregon.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Kenneth C. McCoy, one great-granddaughter, Ashlyn Kathleen Marshall, her brother, Edward Cooke, and her sister, Betty Cooke.
