Kathlyn A. "Kathy" Hall, 68, of Rock Island, formerly of Altona, Ill. died Monday, May 13, 2019 at her home surrounded by family.  Funeral services will be 10:30 am Friday at First Lutheran Church, 1600 20th Street, Rock Island.  Visitation will be Thursday from 4-7 pm at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island.  Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Altona, Ill.  Memorials may be made in care of First Lutheran Church, Rock Island or the QC Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Kathy was born in Galesburg, Ill. on August 16, 1950, a daughter of Leonard and Jane (Johnson) Johnson.  Kathy was a graduate of Augustana College, Rock Island.  She married Douglas Hall on June 30, 1973 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Altona.

Kathy worked with children with disabilities for the Rock Island School District No. 41 for 18 years.

Kathy was a member of First Lutheran Church, Rock Island.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Illini fan.  She enjoyed having coffee with the neighbors on Saturday morning and watching NCAA men's college basketball.  She had a passion for animals, especially cats.

Kathy's main love was spending time with her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Douglas Hall, Rock Island; daughters, Meggan (Bradley) Sowell, Lake in the Hills, Ill. and Sarah (Lucas) Roney, Mt. Zion, Ill.; grandchildren, Nolan, Landon, Emersyn and Maddox Roney; and sisters, Karyn Olson, Oneida, Ill. and Cheryl (Carl) Swanson, Altona, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island, especially those on the 7th Floor and ICU.  A thank you also to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care in Moline.
