Kathryn E. Bleuer, 96, of Rock Island, died Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Avonlea Cottage in Milan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made in care of the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island, is assisting the family.

Kathryn was born in Rock Island on Nov. 28, 1918, a daughter of William and Josephine Burkhart Franck. She married Charles W. Bleuer in Rock Island on Jan. 23, 1943. He preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 1993.

Kathryn was a homemaker. She was a fun loving person who brought joy to everyone she met.

Kathryn volunteered much of her time over the years at ARC of the Quad Cities, Meals on Wheels and as a Befriender at the former Franciscan Hospital, now known as UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island.

Kathryn was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the funeral choir.

Survivors include her children (and spouses), Charles P. (Nancy) Bleuer, Milan, Mary Jo (Bruce) Bleuer-Terstage, Orion, Robert (Connie) Bleuer, Davenport and Margaret Bleuer, Davenport; daughter-in-law, Renee Bleuer, Rock Island; grandchildren, Doreen (Rodney) Underwood, Brian (Leslie) Bleuer, Elizabeth (Joe) Ehrecke, Mark (Kate McManus) Bleuer, Rosenne (Amanda Piper) Bleuer, Anthony (Meghan Volker) Bleuer, Sarah (Andrew) Gustafson, Jacqueline (John) Rydzewski, Kathryn Bleuer; nine great-grandchildren with one on the way; sister-in-law, Marion Lingner, East Moline; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Paul and brothers, William and Richard Franck.
