Kathryn S. Nitz, 62, of Milan, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2018 at UnityPoint Health, Trinity, Rock Island.  A Celebration of Kathie's life will be held from 11:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Milan American Legion.  Memorials may be made to the QC Animal Welfare Center, Milan.  Wheelan Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family

Kathryn was born June 28, 1956 in Rock Island, a daughter of Lyle and Nellie (Johnson) Iverson.  She married Douglas Nitz on September 20, 1980.  Doug passed away November 28, 2005.  Kathryn worked as a Butcher's Assistant at the former Mr. B's Grocery in Milan.  She loved spending time with family, fishing at the Conservation Club, camping and playing on the computer.  She also had a soft spot for animals.

Left to cherish Kathryn's memory are her sons, Jeffrey (Heather) Rice, Moline and Bryan Nitz, Milan; granddaughter, Tera (Andres) Martinez, Moline; great grandson, Andres Martinez; sisters, Carol Chandler, Coyne Center and Connie Keto, Rock Island; brothers, Karl Iverson, Milan and Jon (Gerry) Iverson, Rock Island; and many other loving family members and friends.
