Kathryn K. Jansen, 81, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday March 3, 2018 at home.

A Memorial Mass will be 10:00am Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 9:00am to service time at the church. Memorials may be left to Sacred Heart Church.

Kathryn was born on September 8. 1936 in Evanston, IL, the daughter of James A. and Catherine H. (Keane) Kealey. She married John "Tom" Jansen on December 27, 1958 in Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport.

Mrs. Jansen was a homemaker and had stayed home to raise their children. She later was teacher at Rock Island High School, Edison Jr. High and Frances Willard Elementary.

Kathryn was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Rock Island and Kappa Gamma Pi at Marycrest College. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, sewing, reading, gardening and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Tom; children, Ann (Brent) Michelson, John (Julie) Jansen, James (Lisa) Jansen; grandchildren, Sarah, Claire, Andrew and Emily; sister, Mary Howard; brothers, James, John and Gerald Kealey.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
