Keith G. Pobanz, 62, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023.

A recitation of the rosary will be 3:30 PM Monday, March 27, 2023, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, with visitation following until 6 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island.

Keith was born on April 23, 1960 to Paul and Susan (Crossman) Pobanz in Moline, IL. He grew up in Rock Island and graduated from Alleman High School in 1977. Keith then attended Blackhawk College before he earned his CDL and worked as an over the road trucker for a few years. Keith spent the majority of his career as a self-employed auto mechanic, retiring after over 20 years.

Keith was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan. He loved his dogs, Queenie and especially Mary Jane who was his best friend until she passed. Keith enjoyed riding his motorcycle and traveling the country. He was a free spirit who liked to live life to the fullest.

Keith was welcomed into Heaven by his father, Paul Pobanz; brothers, Kirk and Christopher Pobanz; and nephew, Mark Pobanz.

Survivors include his mother, Susan Pobanz; son, Justin Pulford; siblings, Karl, Kent, Ky, and Katrina Pobanz; grandson, Sebastian Pulford; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Habitat for Humanity or K9 Kindness Rescue.
