It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Keith E. Quick, 63, of Rock Island, who departed this life on April 21, 2026, in Dalton, Georgia.
Keith was born on March 22, 1963, in Rock Island, Illinois, to the late Emery and Doris Quick. He found joy and companionship in the union with his beloved wife, Caroline “Carrie” Diaz, whom he married on June 28, 1986. Tragically, Carrie preceded him in death on November 8, 2024.
A proud veteran, Keith served his country in the National Guard. He dedicated 26 years of his life to the Rock Island Fire Department, embodying courage and commitment throughout his career. An avid outdoorsman, Keith cherished his time spent golfing, hunting, and fishing, often referring to himself as a “river rat.” He was an ardent supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins and was known for his skills as a handyman, often taking on projects with enthusiasm and expertise.
Keith is survived by his children, Benjamin Quick of Rock Island, Illinois, and Jennifer (Charlie) Mussomele of Woodbridge, Virginia; his cherished grandchildren, Gabriella and Lillianna; as well as his sister, Dottie; brother, Kelly; and numerous loving extended family members, in-laws, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brother, Joe.
A visitation to honor Keith's life will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, located at 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island, Illinois. Following the visitation, cremation rites will be performed, and inurnment will take place privately at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa.
