Kenneth S. De Pooter, 54, of Illinois City, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity, Rock Island. Per Ken's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
Kenneth Stanley De Pooter was born on September 16, 1960 in Moline, the son of Clarence "Gene" and Judith Brown De Pooter. He married Shawna Fink in 1994 in Andalusia. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Josh. Ken worked as a Drywall Finisher; mostly sub-contracting through Van Pelt Construction. He was known as one of the best finishers in the Quad City area.
Ken was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing whenever possible. He was a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the National Rifle Association.
Survivors include his son, Josh, Illinois City; mother and step-father, Judy (Ron) Dunnett, Andalusia; sisters, Teresa (Trapper) Bratton, Rock Island, Janice (Brad) Mosher, Colorado, Denise (Jeffrey) Parchert, Illinois City and Diana (John) Mier, Illinois City; nieces: Amber, Megan and Lorna; nephews: Michael, Matthew, Marc, Jacob and Ryan; as well as many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence "Gene"
