Kenneth Dale Fittro, 78, of Blue Grass, Iowa, formerly of Rock Island, died Monday, November 1, 2021 at home. A graveside service will be 11 am Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, where military honors will also be presented. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 am Wednesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of the family.
Kenneth was born in Canton, Ohio on November 1, 1943, a son of William and Ethel Bailey Fittro. He married Deborah Sue Ward on December 7, 1983 in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2009.
Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1966 – 1969. He worked as a truck driver for many years and last worked as a supervisor for Haggerty Brothers.
Kenneth was a percussionist who had a passion for music. He also enjoyed fixing and tinkering with cars.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Joash Fittro, Blue Grass, Iowa and Sean (Mikiko) Fittro, Honolulu, Hawaii; grandchildren, Kiana Fittro, Mariah Ward, Kaylee Ward, Ethan Brandmeyer, Dustin Rebello, Austin Ward, Aiden Ward, Alexander Ward, Ellie Ward, and Blakelee Ward; and siblings, Millicent Mills, Vero Beach, Fla., Linda Newman, Moline, Ill., Susan Steves, Granville, NY and Donald Fittro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter, Shannon Fittro and brothers, Richard and Robert Fittro.
