Kenneth E. Flack, 91, of Reynolds, died Thursday, February 27, 2025, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity, Rock Island. A Masonic service will be presented by the Buffalo Prairie Masonic Lodge No. 679 A.F. & A.M. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 801 W. Edgington Street, Reynolds, Illinois, 61279 at 11 am Thursday, March 6, 2025. The funeral service will start immediately after the Masonic service. Visitation will take place from 10-11 am Thursday, March 6, 2025, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in care of Grace Church PC (USA), Rock Island, or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Ken was born in Rock Island, Illinois on September 30, 1933, a son of Harry F. and Esther Schmeckel Flack. He was a graduate of Rock Island High School, and was a U.S Army veteran who served during the Korean War.
Ken married Cynthia "Cindy" Frakes on October 25, 1953, in Rock Island, Illinois. She preceded him in death on January 7, 2018.
Ken worked for Birkeland Dodge for 25 years, Highland Toyota for 15 years and then became owner and operator of Ken's Auto Sales. Following retirement, Ken drove a school bus for both Johannes Bus Service and the Rockridge School District. He was also a first responder volunteering as a fireman and on the ambulance for the Reynolds's Fire Department.
Ken was a very church, family and community-oriented man. He was a member of Grace Church PC (USA) and past member and Elder of the former Gloria Dei Presbyterian Church, both of Rock Island. He was also the past commander and a current member of the Reynolds American Legion Post No. 1166 as well as a former Grand Master and current member of the Buffalo Prairie Masonic Lodge No. 679 A.F. & A.M. He was an aficionado of Polka music and an avid hunter and fisherman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Bradley (Karen) Flack, East Moline, IL and Michelle (Jerry) Baker, Abingdon, IL; grandchildren, Mike (Alexa) Flack, Kristine (Matthew) Lumb, Matthew (Angie) Stegall, MacKenzie (Kaitlyn) Flack, Father Casey Flack, Connor (Emily) Flack and Cameron Flack; great-grandchildren, Miles, Hallie, Leo, Riley, Anthony, Lily, Asa, Avery, Ellery and Andrew; sister, Elaine Dixon, Rock Island, IL; and special friend, Patti Jo Brown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, son, Ron Flack, and brother, Allen Flack.
