Kenneth G. Handley, 85, of Milan, Illinois, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at his home.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, Illinois.

Ken was born on January 15, 1941, in Rock Island, Illinois, a son of Edward L. and Florence (Crosby) Handley Sr. He was a graduate of Rock Island High School, Class of 1959. Ken devoted many years of his working life to Alcoa until his retirement.

Ken was involved in the Milan Little League and Milan Babe Ruth League, generously giving his time as an umpire and even as coach for a while. He cared about local youth and took great pride in supporting local youth sports. He enjoyed watching Rock Island High School teams, even when he did not have children in the school. While favoring nearby professional teams, he enjoyed watching professional sports regardless of which teams were playing, especially baseball, football, and basketball. He was also a racing fan and made frequent trips to the Indianapolis 500. In his later years, Ken also enjoyed trips to the casino. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family, who were the center of his life.

Those left to honor Ken’s memory include his daughters, Susie Lorenzo-Luaces (Gus), Dawn Herbert (Ricky), and Wendy Handley; grandchildren, Desiree Handley, Camie Herbert, Maxwell Herbert, and Gussie Lorenzo-Luaces; and great-granddaughter, Amariah Greenwood.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gerald Handley; and brothers, Leonard, Edward Jr., and Theodore “Ted” Handley.
