Kenneth M. "Kenny" McGinnis passed away peacefully Sunday, October 2, 2022 at ProMedica, Moline. He was with family when he passed, and the family takes comfort in knowing he will be reunited with his life partner and true love, Marilyn "Mickey", whom he had missed tremendously.
A memorial will be held for him at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 4 to 7pm. Private burial will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a good cause of your choice.
Kenny was born September 26, 1933, to Raymond "Mac" and Leah McGinnis. He and Mickey were married January 2, 1954 in Milan. Together they raised five children in their beloved home on the Rock River. Kenny worked at John Deere Plow Planter for 35 years, retiring in 1992.
Kenny lived a long and happy life and it was a blessing to have had him with us through the years.
Kenny is survived by his children and spouses; Tony and Carol McGinnis, Scott and Terri McGinnis, Patrick McGinnis and Della Boetje, and Michelle and Bud VanKlavern; grandchildren and their spouses and children; Amy and Brian Croegaert and their children, Charli, Kylie and Jonathan; Kate and Chris Ryan and their children Wyatt, Lyla and Marilyn; Matt McGinnis and his son Waylon; Jake McGinnis and his children Hadley and Tenley; Melissa and Kody Dahl and their children Owen, Mason and Konnor; and Cole McGinnis and Miranda Johnson and their children Lillian and Violet. He is also survived by his sisters Andrea "Andy" Newton and her husband Jack; and Ruth Hoyt.
Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers Dick and Don McGinnis, son Kenneth "Kenny Ray" McGinnis and his son Kyle.
