Kenneth W. Wales, 90, of Milan, passed away Sunday, April 9,
2017 at Avonlea Cottage, Milan.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2017
at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan.
Private burial will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be made to
Avonlea Cottage, Milan.
Kenneth was born on March 16, 1927 in Davenport, the son of Wencil and
Hazel (Duree) Wales.  He married Carol Stevenson on February 11, 1956,
and later divorced.  On April 22, 1970 he married Colleen Thoren.
Kenneth was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, serving our
country in WWII.  Kenneth was the Assistant Chief of the Milan Police
Department.  He enjoyed gardening.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Colleen Wales, Milan; children, Kenneth (Patty) Wales, Coal
Valley, Ronald (Tammy) Wales, Milan, Donald (Sheila) Wales, Milan,
William (Loretta) Wales, FL, Kenna (Clifford Bart) Durham, Rock Island, Mark
(Theresa) Thoren, Milan, and Dawn (Russell) Hanson, NC; fifteen
grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and half sisters, Karen
Krabbenhoft, and Alyce (Kim) Hager.  He was preceded in death by his
parents; brother, Robert Wales; and infant sister, Lillian Wales.
