Kenneth V. Ziemer, 85, of Reynolds, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Wheelan - Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Reynolds Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of The National Parkinson's Foundation or the Reynolds Fire Protection District.

Ken was born on January 20, 1929 in Taylor Ridge, IL, a son of Clem and Clara Gruske Ziemer. He married Luella Rohwer on April 12, 1951 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport, Iowa.

Ken was a dedicated farmer who worked with his son, Ron, on the family farm and also spent many years in sales for Gold Star FS, formerly Rock Island Service Company. He was a member of the Rock Island County Farm Bureau and Reynolds American Legion Post 1166. Ken also enjoyed bowling in leagues and spending time with family.

Survivors include his wife of over 63 years, Luella; son, Ron (Karen) Ziemer, Reynolds; daughters, Debbie (Ken) Walker, Gilson and Loretta (Richard) Caron, Kenosha, WI; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy) Ray, Sarah (Shane) Gossage, Daniel Beauchamp and Jennifer Ziemer; step-grandchildren, Sarah Pender, Melissa and Brian Dutler, and Chris and Becky Walker; along with 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Keith Ziemer
