Iris Kennison, 80, of Moline, passed away Thursday July 31, 2014 at Riverwood Rehab, East Moline.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Rock Island.

Iris was born May 31, 1934 in Rock Island, a daughter of Walter and Doris (Bemis) Nugent. She was first married to Lester Mazzarollo on February 19, 1955 in Rock Island. She later married Victor Kennison in November 1975 in Rock Island. He preceded her in death in March of 1987.

Iris was employed for 25 years at the Rock Island Argus/Moline Dispatch. She retired in 1996. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island.

Iris loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and will be missed by all.

Surviving are her children, Ricki Mazzarollo, Randi Barnes, and Leslie Scharer, all of Rock Island, Lester Mazzarollo, Naples, FL, Neal and Shawn Mazzarollo, both of Rock Island, and Iris Mazzarollo, East Moline; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law, Jean (Ken) Mourning, Rock Island.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Victor.
