Kent Robert Ferris, 72, of Moline, Illinois, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026, at the Kahl Home in Davenport, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Avenue, Rock Island, Illinois. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the River Bend Food Bank and the Coral Restoration Foundation.

Kent was born on August 28, 1953, in Manchester, Iowa, a son of Robert Roy and Eileen (Manson) Ferris. He graduated from Moline High School in 1971 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University, followed by a Master of Business Administration from St. Ambrose University.

On September 14, 1985, Kent married Patricia A. Bowman in Moline, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 40 years. Kent worked in logistics at Deere & Company until his retirement in 2020.

Kent was a member of Grace Church PC(USA) in Rock Island, the Quad Cities Illinois Rotary Club, and the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI). He had a deep passion for scuba diving and found great joy in teaching others to explore the underwater world. He also enjoyed underwater photography, capturing the beauty of the places he visited. Above all, Kent treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Kent’s memory include his wife of 40 years, Patricia; daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Austin Reynolds; two grandchildren, Millicent and Malcolm; and sister-in-law, Crystal Ferris.

Kent was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Brian Ferris.
