Kevin D. Regal, 58, of Milan, passed away with his loving wife and children by his side on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. Services for Kevin will be 11 am, Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home & Crematory, Milan. Visitation will be 2 to 5 pm, Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
Kevin was born on July 24, 1958 in Rock Island, a son of Duane and Rose DeSchepper Regal. He married the love of his life Kathy Ortman on October 14, 1978 in Rock Island. Kevin was employed at Sears Manufacturing, Davenport. He was the president & CEO of the "Brat Club", an exclusive club of select members hand picked by Kevin. Kevin was loved by so many, and had so much love in his heart for all of his family. Kevin loved to fish, spend time in his beautiful garden, and also being the life of the party or any get together. Kevin was always there to help anyone in need, even if it were something as simple as hello and big hug.
Kevin adored his wife, and their two daughters and son. Kevin loved coaching the girls in softball, and later spending time in his garden with his son. Kevin also cherished his friendship gained with his "Little Buddy", but more than anything cherished his four grandsons. Kevin could always be found in the stands of their various sporting events, in the backyard playing wiffle ball, or in the garden teaching his grandsons the joys of growing and the value of hard work.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy; children, Maggie (Chad) Clauson, Geneseo, Mollie Regal, Geneseo and Mitchell Regal, Milan; grandsons, Payton, Charlie, Shep and Finn; siblings, Lynda (Fred) Nahra, Milan, Diana (Dennis) Barkau, Denver, IA. and Roxie (Rick) Runyon, Irvington, IL.; and many nieces and nephews who were more than his nieces and nephews, whom Kevin adored.
