Kevin E. Smith, 47, of Niles, Mich., passed away Sunday August 19, 2018 in Rock Island. A memorial service in Michigan, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, at First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, 925 Chippewa St., Buchanan, Mich. A memorial service in Illinois, will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, at Edgewood Baptist Church, 2704 38th St., Rock Island, Ill. Inurnment in Moline Memorial Park, Moline, Ill., will be at a later date. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, Ill. is assisting the family with arrangements in Illinois. Kevin was born December 15, 1970 in Moline, Ill., the son of Lawrence "Larry" and Diane Roberson Smith. He attended Rock Island schools. He married Debra K. Smith on November 14, 1992 in Niles. Kevin was a truck driver and in earlier years a welder. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycling. His favorite times were spent with family, especially his grandson, Troy. Surviving are his wife, Debra, of Niles; children, Prescott (Megan) Smith and Abigail Smith, all of Niles, and Quintin (Maranda) Smith, Fort Campbell, Ky.; grandson, Troy; parents, Larry and Diane Smith, Rock Island; sister, Laurie (James) Houtz, Mississippi; several nieces, nephews, and numerous additional family. Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
