Obituary

Kristie Lynn (Richardson) Wallace peacefully made her transition on August 28, 2026. She was an extraordinary Mother, daughter, sister, partner, friend, and colleague whose warmth, laughter, generosity, and unmistakable spirit left an impression on everyone she met.

Kristie was born on April 23, 1976, in Wolf Lake, Indiana, to Janie Craft (Halsey) and Kenneth Richardson Sr. She spent her childhood in Indiana and graduated from Central Noble High School in Albion. She later attended Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio. After meeting Jeff Wallace in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she eventually made her home with him in the Quad Cities of Iowa and Illinois, where they raised three beautiful children together. Throughout her life, Kristie built a home and family centered on love, faith, generosity, and service to others.

Kristie devoted nearly two decades of her professional life to MidAmerican Energy, serving the company and its customers with dedication, professionalism, and heart. She worked in numerous departments throughout her career and ultimately became Manager of Service Dispatch in Sioux City, Iowa. Her leadership, compassion, strong work ethic, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on the many colleagues who had the privilege of working alongside her.

To know Kristie was to know a genuine, passionate, and selfless human being. Her smile could light up any room, and whatever role she took on, she approached it with confidence and excellence. To say she would give someone the shirt off her back would be an understatement. She treated people with kindness and respect, regardless of who they were, and her contagious laugh and uplifting presence had a way of making difficult moments feel a little lighter.

Kristie was kind and fierce, gracious and giving, loving, caring, and full of joy. Her sparkling eyes reflected her curiosity, openness, and genuine appreciation for others. Her greatest love was for her children, but her heart extended far beyond her immediate family. Throughout her life, she welcomed and cared for many other people’s children as though they were her own. She wanted the people around her to smile, feel accepted, and know they mattered.

Welcoming Kristie at the gates of Heaven are her father, Kenneth Richardson; her mother, Janie (Halsey) Craft; her stepfather, Bob Craft; her father-in-law, O.C. Wallace; her mother-in-law, Bonnie Wallace; and many other beloved family members and extended family who passed before her.

Those left to carry Kristie’s love, grace, and legacy forward include her beloved children, Ambreihl (Vince) Timberlake, Jeffrey Wallace Jr., and Jamillah (Nate) Wallace; her significant other, Seedy Barrow; her ex-husband and longtime friend, Jeff (Eefje & Théo) Wallace; her brother, John Richardson; her ex-brothers-in-law, Bryant Wallace, Jayy Wallace, Barry Wallace, Chris Wallace; and her ex-sister-in-law, Lori Ane Wallace, with whom she shared a particularly close and loving relationship. She also leaves behind several cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren, along with her soul-sister, Brooke Wilson-Clemons, and countless friends and loved ones whose lives were made better simply because Kristie was part of them.

Though Kristie’s earthly journey is complete, her light continues through her children, family, friends, the lessons she shared, the laughter she inspired, and every act of kindness carried forward in her memory. Her life was a gift to those who knew and loved her, and her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Memorial contributions may be made in Kristie’s honor to Argrow’s House of Healing & Hope, Winnie’s Place, Dress for Success, or Minnie’s Maison, organizations reflecting her heart for helping others. Memorial gifts may also be given directly to her children as they navigate this loss.

There will be a visitation, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life Service following at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030 7th Ave, Rock Island, IL. In honor of Kristie’s vibrant spirit and her favorite color, guests are invited to wear purple as family and friends gather to celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the love she shared so freely.
