Lara Grossman (nee Anderson), 58, passed away on February 23, 2022, after a fierce battle with cancer.  Beloved wife of 32 years of John Grossman and devoted sister to Karen Anderson, Lara was the daughter of the late Nels and Lois (Rursch) Anderson of Annawan, IL.  Lara will be long remembered for her care and devotion to her family, especially her sister Karen.

Lara graduated from Annawan High School and studied at Black Hawk College.  She began working for Rock Island Arsenal where she met her husband, John.  John and Lara followed their passion for photography and opened John Thomas Photography in 1991.  With an initial focus on weddings and high school seniors, they captured many important moments in the lives of many people in the Quad Cities.  Lara was an award-winning photographer who also founded Flowergraphs in 2011 and My A2Z Art in 2012.   Lara served as the President of the Quad Cities Photography Club for nearly a decade.  Her artistic talent and creativity live on in her images.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, IL.
