Larry W. Crum, 84, formerly of Milan, died Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Supportive Living of Washington, Washington, Ill. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Friday, August 13, 2021 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 201 E. 4th Avenue, Milan, Ill. Burial will take place at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made in care of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Milan.
Larry was born in Rock Island, Illinois on November 15, 1936, a son of Robert L. and Ruby Deyo Crum. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1954. Larry married Donna Stone on August 1, 1956 in Senatobia, Mississippi.
Larry was a carpenter by trade. He worked many years for his father at the Superior Cabinet Company in Rock Island. He also worked for St. Anthony's Hospital and retired from Franciscan Hospital, now known as UnityPoint Health – Trinity, both of Rock Island.
Larry enjoyed camping and was a member of the Rock Island Family Campers where he also served three years as President. He was an avid HO train enthusiast, in particular, anything related to the Rock Island Lines.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Donna Crum, Washington, Ill.; children (and spouses), Jim (Gail) Crum, Huntsville, Ala., Matt (Pam) Crum, Washington, Ill., Julie Zizert, Parsons, Tenn. and Robbie (Ronda) Crum, Elkhorn, Wisc.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and sister, AnnaMae Spengler, Davenport, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert J. "Bobby" Crum and Michael F. Crum, sister, Sally Jo Crum and granddaughter, Stephanie Lynne Crum.
