IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Larry Dee
Hayes
August 6, 1954 – November 26, 2021
Larry Hayes, 67, of Moline, passed away on November 26, 2021.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am Saturday December 11, 2021 at Broadway Presbyterian Church, 710 – 23rd Street, Rock Island. Visitation will be one hour prior. A reception will follow at the church to celebrate Larry's life. Inurnment will be at a later date in Rock Island National Cemetery.
Larry was born on August 6, 1954 in Fort Riley, Kansas, the son of the late John and Nellie (Wilkerson) Hayes.
Larry had a strong Faith in God and believed in his will.
He loved and lived life to its fullest potential. Those who knew Larry, knew he loved having a good time. He also enjoyed music, could dance to any beat instantly and was very meticulous. Frank Sinatra's signature song, My Way, truly exemplified his life and the way in which he lived it. He was exceedingly generous and sometimes a little moody. Larry had no children, but many nieces and nephews, who he truly loved and had a special name for all of them.
A special thanks to his doctors, nurses, home instead and staff for their compassionate care for Larry.
Larry will be missed by his family, true friends and associates.
He leaves to cherish his memory his twin brother, Jerry Sr. (Linda) Hayes, brothers, Johnny (Doris) Hayes, all of Davenport, Billy (Sylvia) Hayes, Guy Hayes, all of Rock Island; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, all of his sisters, Pearl Hayes, Toni (Hayes) Walker, Lavern Hayes, Jillanne and Betty Sue Hayes; nieces, Jessica Walker, Tracee Hayes; several aunts and uncles.
For what is a man; what has he got? if not himself, then he has naught to say the things he truely feels and the words of one who kneels the record shows. I took the blows and it my way! Night Train
