Larry Kirkland, 77, of Muscatine passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Edgington Cemetery, with a reception to follow at Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in care of the family. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is assisting the family.

Larry was born on September 12, 1947 in Moline, IL, a son of Odell and Martha (Hessman) Kirkland. He graduated from Rockridge High School in 1965 and went on to serve in the Army Reserves.

Larry worked in various industries over the years, including manufacturing, customer sales and distribution of auto parts and golf course maintenance. In his spare time, he could be found tinkering in his garage. His hobbies included woodworking, watching John Wayne, supporting the Chicago Bears and dressing up as Santa every year.

Those left to cherish Larry's memory include his daughters, Melissa (Eric) Brown, Stephanie (Brandon) Kirkland-Roessler and Stacey (Josh) Ford; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Patty (Mike) Nelson; and significant other, Darcy Carter.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
