Larry A. Pearson, 82, of Matherville, IL, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 at UnityPoint Health Trinity, Rock Island.

Per Larry's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of life will be held for family and friends at 1pm on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Matherville Volunteer Fire Department. Memorials may be left in care of the Matherville Volunteer Fire Department. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family.

Larry was born on August 29, 1942 in Cambridge, IL, a son of Lyle and Frances (Hatfield) Pearson. He graduated from Sherrard High School. Larry married Beverly McClean on April 6, 1963 and they enjoyed over 62 years of marriage. He worked as a millwright for IH Farmall until retirement.

Larry was a member of the Matherville Volunteer Fire Department for over 55 years. He was invested in his community and helped found the Matherville fireworks, volunteered with their auxiliary police department and worked as a road commissioner for Greene Township. His hobbies included catfishing and playing euchre.

Those left to cherish Larry's memory include his wife, Beverly "Bev" Pearson; daughters, Colleen Pearson and Patricia (Scott) Harris; grandchildren, Scotty Harris, Jeremy (Laina) Harris, Ashley (Josh) O'Dell and Cole (Ariel) Harris; great-grandchildren, Ava, Owen, Mya, Lilly, Juliana, Dereon and Patrick; sister, Linda Halsall; nieces and nephews, Lyle, John, Natalie, Brett and Brenda; and special friends, Fred Moffitt and Steve Whan.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, David (Bev) Pearson and Lela Sedder; and brother-in-law, Dale McClean.
